Who can get ANE?

Raising awareness that the reality is, ANE can affect anyone at any age.

Acute necrotizing encephalopathy (ANE), is a rare but distinctive type of acute encephalopathy with global distribution. It is generally considered to be a parainfectious disease that is triggered mainly by viral infections. It typically affects previously healthy children. However, even in 2020, so much is still unknown about Acute Necrotizing Encephalopathy. The recent reports of adult cases in association with Covid19 has opened up a new area of ANE. There are medical reports of teen ANE cases. Genetic cases of ANE are the minority. It is not an understatement to say that ANE can strike anyone at any age.
